our history: from stein fibers to everra

Founded in 1976, Stein Fibers grew from humble beginnings into a cornerstone of the synthetic fiber industry. Peter Spitalny and Sidney Stein, Jr.—the original "Stein" in Stein Fibers—leveraged their deep roots in the textile industry and years of experience to establish a company devoted to customer responsiveness. Stein Fibers initially served as a polyester fiberfill distributor, partnering with leading domestic textile fiber manufacturers.

1976

In the 1980s, the company expanded its horizons by importing fibers from Korea and Taiwan. By the end of the decade, Stein Fibers had solidified its global reach, partnering with fiber producers worldwide. As the new millennium began, Stein Fibers further evolved by establishing manufacturing in the U.S., achieving vertical integration as a manufacturer and distributor.

1980

Rapid expansion continued between 2000 and 2017 as Stein grew its domestic base and focused on establishing a true global footprint, aggressively expanding its supply base and seeking industry-leading partners worldwide. Stein established a permanent office in Shanghai, China, to lead its sourcing growth, which now encompasses supply relationships across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and South America.

2000

By 2017, Stein Fibers began an aggressive growth strategy that led to six PET industry acquisitions from 2018 to 2024, accelerating its growth plan to become the sustainability-focused market leader for PET fibers and polymers in North America.

2017

As Stein Fibers embraces the vision for what the future holds, we continue to evolve and meet new challenges. While our name may have changed, our core values and services remain rooted in our history of providing premium distribution services to our customers and suppliers across the PET industry.
